About Roseanna

Roseanna Frechette is in love with words. Written, spoken, published, or not. It’s all about words on the page and energy on stage. Longtime member of Denver’s thriving poetry community, and former publisher of Rosebud Forum magazine, Roseanna holds great passion for the bohemian underground and all things alternative/independent when it comes to art.

Dancer and yogi, as well as multi-genre writer and performance poet, Roseanna holds equal respect for pure beauty of nature and edgy intrigue of urban culture. Her “First Collection: 13 Poems” was released in ’91. Since then, writings of Roseanna’s have appeared on many pages, like so many etchings on leaves to be scattered to the wind. Her work has featured on public TV and radio as well as festival stages including Arise, Boulder Fringe, and Colorado Poetry Rodeo. She is the reigning Dead Poets Slam Champion for her portrayal of Anais Nin. Her writing program for youth, “The Power of Poetic Voice,” won a National Program Award from Girls Inc. (formerly Girls Club of America).

Roseanna’s passion for humanitarian concerns and community engagement extends into activism. In 2016 she founded Denver Artists for Rent Control: and attainable space for all, which has remained effectively active ever since. That same year she was named a “Colorado Creative,” by the arts and culture weekly Westword. Ever the bohemian being, Roseanna tends to create from whatever ground she happens to be standing on.
